MODULE 1: General biochemistry2 video lessons (50m 02s )
In this eLearning module, you will learn about the Cell. Cells are the basic building blocks of all living organisms. The cell is a mass of cytoplasm that is bound externally by a cell membrane. The human body has more than 30 trillion cells. Cells provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from food, convert those nutrients into energy and carry out specialized functions. Most of the cells have one or more nuclei and other organelles that carry out a variety of tasks.
In this eLearning module, you will learn about Extracellular Matrix. The Extracellular Matrix is the non-cellular component present within all tissues and organs. ECM is a large network of proteins and other molecules that surrounded, support and give structure to cells and tissues in the body. ECM helps cells to attach to and communicate with nearby cells and plays an important role in cell growth, cell movement, and other cell functions. It is also involved in repairing damaged tissues.
